How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

Psalms 133:1‭-‬3 NIV

👉Indeed the unity among brothers and sisters in the community of church going Christians is an awesome thing. Hence, it is said be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves. Here, we can see a complex word in Greek called as Philosstorgos used. This is the combination of two words Philia and Storge. Philia is an intimate love in the Bible that Christians practice towards each other. The word suggest a powerful emotional bond seen in deep friendship. Storge is intimate family love between parents and children, brothers and sisters. Jesus intended this Philosstorgos even as he prayed to Father, “Holy Father protect them by the power of your name – the name you gave me – so that they may be one as we are one.

👉The unity is expressed by Philosstorgos, when this is evident God is so pleased that he anoints all of them with a precious oil. This oil was specifically made to anoint The Chief Priest Aaron in the old testament the formula for this oil was exclusively given by God to Moses to anoint Aaron. There was an serious consequence of using the formula for any other purpose. God is giving us an exclusive status among others. He values unity in other words intimate brotherly and family Love among the Church going Christians.

👉King David compared God’s people living together in unity to the dew of Mount Hermon falling on Mount Zion. This illustration is fitting, since the slopes of Mount Hermon, in the north, receive profuse amounts of dew. Mount Zion, in the south, is much drier. David compared the refreshing dew of Hermon to the blessings of unity in Israel, from north to south. Philosstorgos among the Christians in the Church is life-giving. Your love expressed is source of life to each other and can attract others to be the part of this special blessing. God is Good. Share Love always do not hesitate to show love specially to the people in Church.
