Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Timothy 1:15-17 NIV
👉Jesus said “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. Paul who was called as Saul in his earlier days, was a persecutor, blasphemer and a violent man he called himself as worst of all sinners.
👉However, Lord Jesus met him powerfully on the road to Damascus and had a dramatic conversion experience.
👉He now while writing this letter to his disciple Timothy says few Trustworthy sayings, one of them is in this passage. That is Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
The other four trustworthy sayings which deserves full acceptance are as follows: 1. If anyone sets his heart on being an overseer, he desires a noble task. 2. That we have put our hope in the living God, who is the savior of all men, and especially of those who believe. 3. If we died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us; if we are faithless, he will remain faithful for he cannot disown himself. 4. Those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
👉Having said the trustworthy saying Paul says that he was shown mercy means he was spared from the worst punishment that he deserved bring the worst sinner among all, inorder to Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on Jesus and receive eternal life.
👉God’s kindness leads you towards repentance. We all have sinned and fallen short of glory of God and wages of sin is death, but gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. That everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. That is abundant life, quality life, peace and joy. If not believed then they will go away to eternal punishment.
👉God alone is immortal who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation for from him and through him and to him are all things.
👉Moses’ song, Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God almighty. Just true are your ways, King of the ages.
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be Honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen
