And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4:30-32 NIV
This is a big one for us to remember even as Paul inserts it in between the instructions for Christian living as Children of light. That He says that Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God which is in you. Who is there to help you and guide you in your Christian walk. However, he says that we have to co-operate with the Holy Spirit. He is a person who lives in you, He is very much active in your lives. He will not supersede your free Will. He will nudge you and speak to you whenever you have to act or change or forgive someone or to do the right thing or to avoid doing any wrong things, he will guide you till you co-operate with Him. If you change path which is exactly opposite what He says then He will remain silent and may be He will be even grieved. Therefore, let us get rid of all bitterness and anger etc and forgive one another, and show kindness and compassion to one another.
