Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:1-4 NIV
Be prepared is the buzz word for every Christians. Paul is again very much concerned about his fellow Christians in Colosse.
He is seeing the end from now and wants everyone to be the part of that climax. For which he is labouring to encourage each and everyone who are very dear to him.
He says when the Christ who is your own life, appears even as our lives are hidden with Christ in God then we all will also appear with him in glory.
Therefore, Paul is giving an imperatives to the Christians even as they live on this earth as citizens of the God’s Kingdom to set their hearts and minds on the things which are above, namely Christ who is seated on the right hand of God, on the Kingdom Principles, Values, and on the Characters of Christ. Which will be exactly opposite of what the earth as to offer.
Your old self is dead and buried along with Christ and a new self is raised along with Christ this knowledge and understanding will help us with the power of God working in us to set our hearts and minds above.
