In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
1 Peter 5:5 NIV

Continued from yesterday

👉 The young should cloth with oneself with humility. We wear clothes for protection of our body from different climatic nature e.g Winter, summer etc., to project our culture by dressing culturally, to look good, to present well to others, in other words we take much care when we wear our clothes, it is the choice we take and take much efforts to wear our clothes so that we are presentable. Similarly, we have to make an intellectual choice to Humble ourselves when it comes to people in the community of Church, with our peers and others in the society we live in.

👉Humility does not come on it’s own. It is the choice that we take to be humble knowing the fact that God is displeased with the proud heart.
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Matthew 23:12 NIV

👉 A proud heart thinking goes like this: That I am something who can’t be challenged, I am bigger, I am self-sufficient, I can make money, I am strong, I am having everything that to live this life, I don’t need anyone, I know everything etc. Can you see this “I” is the word used everytime. This is dangerously poised.

👉 Proud heart has one thing in common that they will have an attitude of Who cares? No one can ask me the question like Why? And the big one is I am not accountable to anyone. I can live as I want attitude.

👉Very very wrong way to live this life of Christianity. So, to be an good Christian let us all throw away our proud hearts and cloth ourselves with Humility.
We will all say to God in Christ Jesus Lord we will take a deliberate choice of humbling ourselves towards other Church going members, Our peers, and Neighbours and others in the society.

Have a wonderful humbling day
